Scholarships

Zonta Club of Toledo 1 offers two different local scholarship opportunities on an annual basis as the club actively supports young women in the community as they prepare to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Young Women in Public Affairs Award

This program from Zonta International has as its goal to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing a young woman’s (age 16-20) commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women. Applicants are asked to reflect upon their lives, their commitment to the communities in which they live, and the role models that have inspired them to become involved in their community or in a specific career. This $500.00 award is given to a high school senior through a competitive application process at the Annual Installation Banquet in May of each year.

Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship

The Zonta International Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship, established in 1998, is open to women pursuing an undergraduate degree in business leading to a business management career. The program is designed to encourage women to seek leadership positions in business-related fields. This $500.00 award is given to a undergraduate woman who has completed two years of college through a competitive application process at the Annual Installation Banquet in May of each year.
